Welcome to the Art by DSH World!
My name is Maureen. I am the daughter of Dottie (deceased) and Bill (lives in Houston TX), Grand Daughter of Doris and proud mother of Faith (5) and Will (2). My husband Scot and I live in Austin, Texas and love it!
If you told me a few years ago that I would be an Art Seller and Story teller one day- I would have laughed at you! This is what is happening!
My mom was an incredible and colorful artist! When she passed away in October 2006 we had just started developing her art. I do wish she were here with us, yet I know her spirit lives on through her family and her art.
So it goes…
Art Parties and some stores with my mom’s art. Then story telling has come in to the picture with a book being born!
All these charaters my mom drew are coming to life with stories that are about our planet and steps we can take to preserve the integrity of our air and water. With Lanelle (the magical cactus lady as the leader) we will tell stories that include many characters who are heroes and protectors of the earth.
Here are Characters my *mom drew and I am writing stories about:
Lanelle
“Be Groovy, Be Green!” is her motto! She is magical and can walk and talk! As the leader to prevent pollution and have fun doing it she is calm and the one to look to for guidance. She is known as the coolest cactus lady in the desert land.
Floyd the Cactus who is Lanelles boyfriend and he is crazy about Lanelle and one of her biggest supporters!*(drawn by Joey Mantle)
Charles the Pygmy Owl who lives in Lanelle’s back and helps her by flying around to make sure no one is hurting the desert land. *(not drawn yet)
Arnold the Armadillo and the Million Marching Ants
Arnold has a huge heart and when his friends need to know about matters of the heart they go to him. You’ll find out how the Ants and Arnold meet and start creating magic together!
Miguel the Magical Frog
Miguel was born a normal greenish frog. Then one day he disappeared and what happens when he is found is amazing to all!
Lilly the Accordion Armadillo
Lilly has the ability to turn herself into an accordion and play love music that can create a loving atmosphere. In her first story you’ll find out how she becomes an Accordion Armadillo.
